Ciao Fashionistas/os!
My name is Micah Ohno and I’m a Style Guru representing Philadelphia University! I’m majoring in Fashion Design and I am halfway through my junior year. This will be my second term interning as a Style Guru and I could not be more excited to return. I started writing for CollegeFashionista during the summer and took a semester off while I studied abroad in Rome, Italy. Studying abroad was the most amazing experience of my life and I recommend it to everyone.
I’ve always been passionate about fashion. My parents let me dress myself from a very young age and I would always try to dress as uniquely as possible. I would wear ridiculous outfits and dress in a way to express myself and stand out. Eventually, I refined my style and continued to dress with my own unique, personal flare, but with a cleaner aesthetic.
My personal style changes day-to-day based on how I feel. Some days I like to wear very feminine looks with floral prints and pastels. Other days I like to wear grungier looks in all black and dark colors. Other days, I gravitate more towards sporty or street wear. My style changes and evolves frequently in order to fit how I feel that particular day. I love to reference old time periods and fashion movements such as the ’50s pin-ups and ’90s grunge.
Right now, some key elements in my style are my flannel, black cape and knee-high socks. Also, I love to top off my look with some dark lipstick.
