Hello Fashionistas/os! I am Mia Marshall. I am so siked to be sharing my fashion experiences with you all this fall as a Style Guru! I am currently a third year Marketing student at Loyola University, New Orleans; however, I will be studying in Milan, Italy for the next two semesters. “Whoa, exciting right?”
Besides having the daunting task of dwindling my wardrobe down for my time abroad, I am super excited and ready to go! For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to live and study in Milan. Why, you might ask? Well, because it’s only the fashion capital of the world and I am a real life Fashionista, “Duh!” No but really, I am most excited about taking various fashion courses, all of which will help further my dreams of one day opening a fashion and lifestyle boutique of my own. Okay, I am also really excited about the gelato.
If I had to label my style I would say minimalist-chic. I love simple, classic silhouettes and very breathable, comfortable fabrics. I have never been one to wear something just because it is trending. I wear things because of the occasion, comfort, my mood and season. Some of my favorite pieces are the ones that are versatile and help me put together an effortless, 10-minute outfit—like an oversized blazer that can be dressed up or down with a good pair of Chelsea boots that can give instant edge to any outfit. My perfect outfit comes with my personal favorite, boyfriend jeans, paired with a simple top and my curls pulled into a high bun.
Honestly, the key to being stylish and pulling off any outfit is to be confident. I believe that you must not wear your clothes but live in them.
This semester is bringing forth so many changes for me, and I am so happy to report to CollegeFashionista and share a little bit of me and all the fashion trends and inspiration I get to see abroad.
