Welcome to a new school year! My name is Melissa and I’m thrilled to be back as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista. Let me reintroduce myself; I am a Public Relations major and a Music Industry minor at Syracuse University. I’m still as passionate as always about all things creative, telling stories, dance and music.
When I started reading CollegeFashionista, I looked up to the Style Gurus and thought I could never do be one. I felt like I wasn’t stylish enough. Now that I’m going into my second semester, I am so grateful to be contributing to the most stylish and talented community out there. The more I connect with the CollegeFashionista community, the more I really understand how fashion is tool to express who you are. It’s also an art form that connects the designer and you in the most beautiful way. Fashion isn’t about perfection, but rather just about being more of who you are. I challenge you to try everything to find what suits your personality and life and makes you feel on top of the world for any occasion.
I’m super excited to come back after studying and interning in Florence, Italy this summer. During my time abroad, I had the chance to explore my favorite city and learn so much from all the people around me. It’s safe to assume that I’m as in love as always with European style and the effortlessness and confidence in which people of all ages carry themselves.
This new semester is more than just another round of classes or a step closer to graduation. This new start is exciting and full of promise. It’s a chance to learn about yourself and take risks with life and your style.
A new season means new styles, and I’m excited to rock my thigh high boots with layered summer dresses and my favorite leather jacket to combat the cold in Syracuse. I’m also really inspired by the sporty-chic trend and will be implementing that into my daily looks.
You can see what I’m up to and connect with me on my blog. Stay tuned for more amazing content and never forget your most important accessory—confidence.
