For the amount of times I’ve written or talked about the “back-to-school” season, it’s very strange that this is the last time I’ll be partaking in the activity. Four years (and some change) ago, I was just a weirdo freshman. Now it’s hard to believe that I’m making plans to graduate—though the constant emails about registering for graduation will hardly let me doubt this fact for long. This time last year, I was downloading my first Style Guru Internship Packet, and merely two weeks ago I was interning in the CollegeFashionista Chicago offices for the summer. In the blink of an eye and the addition of an accessory, my life as a student seems to be coming to an end.
This will be my fourth and final STYLE GURU BIO, and I think my favorite part about writing them by now is looking back at my style progression. Scoping out Fashionista/os around East Carolina University’s campus has not only given me the chance to capture and investigate street style trends, but it’s shaped my wardrobe and fashion choices along the way. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve added a link to an article, and then immediately followed up with a purchase. I can tell you that one glance at my overflowing closet could easily prove it.
With a constantly changing fashion influence, it’s true that my style gets frequent updates; however, there are still some constants that remain with each season. Graphic T-shirts, vintage skirts, funky hair and platforms will always be staples in my everyday looks. My wardrobe should definitely try to grow up soon, but I don’t think I’ll ever stop dressing to fit my mood and ‘tude.
Though this will be the last semester that I’ll be making ECU’s campus the runway, I can’t wait to see the places I get to do this next. This might be where my life as a Style Guru ends, but this girl will forever be a CollegeFashionista.
