STYLE GURU BIO: Meghan Trimble

Style Guru Bio

We all have that one iconic piece of clothing we remember from our childhood. Pictures and family stories prove that we wouldn’t take it off or leave it anywhere no matter what the circumstances. Following this favorite clothing recognition is always the story of how it became no more. For some it might be an old stained jacket and a case of parental discarding (mom and dad ditching it while you were asleep). For me it was a beautiful pair of white fringe cowgirl boots. Their demise? The family dog.

There’s no way I could have blamed Harry because we were in the same boat; neither of us could keep our paws off of them! However, now I sit, around fifteen years later wondering how to avenge their unsightly doggy-chewed passing. I could think of no better way than asking for the same pair for Christmas. Fa-lalalala-lalala fringe.

While I might have styled them differently the first time around (with dress up clothes and mom’s silky nightgowns), I still stick to my roots and attempt the shocking. Nowadays you can find me in most anything that will get wonderful reviews from strangers, but puzzled stares from my family and friends. Excessive patterns, unusual textiles, graphic crops and denim on denim: well, they’re just calling my name.

Though I like to get crazy, partnering fashions like these harem pants with timeless classics like my favorite trench, is a good way to mix the bold and the beautiful. Another way I like to do that is with my jewelry. I’m one of those girls that wears the exact same rings, bracelets and necklaces until they fall apart. Currently you can’t find me without my David Yurman, hand crafted copper cuff and a my Half United necklace. Though I may “accessorize excessively” (as I said in my first STYLE GURU BIO) I never do so foolishly. My staple items are carefully chosen and never leave my side!

While I swooned over fabulous accessories last semester, I am very excited to be providing you once again with the best ECU pirate style this spring. You’re about to see what me and my new fringe boots can do! As long as the dog doesn’t get to them first.
