STYLE GURU BIO: Meghan Scarry

I became obsessed with fashion when I was five years old. My grandmother and I would tear apart her old Vogue magazines and cut out the models and actresses I thought had the prettiest dresses. I began reading about the designers of all these dresses, and it wasn’t long before I was living and breathing fashion. I began studying fashion merchandising last year at the University of Delaware.

My style is definitely all over the place–it’s all relative to my mood. That’s is what I love about style though and I would never want to be stuck in one trend or labeled as just one thing. I find a lot of inspiration through Pinterest and the fashion blogs I follow. My favorite designers are Chanel, Marchesa, Elie Saab and Giambattista Valli. I also get a lot of celebrity inspiration from Cara Delevingne, Blake Lively and Lauren Conrad. I usually gravitate toward dark colors, like maroon and black. I also love layering! A basic tank top or T-shirt with a cardigan or blazer is always a favorite of mine.

When I’m not glued to Vogue, I love doing anything and everything outdoors-related. I’m from Baltimore but I live near a few mountains that I love hiking when I begin to feel too stressed. I also love taking trips up to New York City and Philadelphia. I’ve been writing for the past two years, both online at The Odyssey Online and for my university’s fashion magazine, UDress. I’m excited to start writing for CollegeFashionista and to inspire others that are just as passionate about fashion as I am!
