Hello everyone! My name is Meghan Roberts and I’m about to start my junior year at New York University as a Film and Television major at the Tisch School of the Arts. I had a great summer living and working in Manhattan and finally got around to starting my own street style fashion blog called TheThirteenthStreet.com! This aside, I’m stoked to be on board with CollegeFashionista for a fourth semester!
I’m particularly excited for this back-to-school season as a junior to see what new and familiar faces will bring to the table. This fall, I’m into minimalist colors and textures, slouchy fits, funny pop-culturally-relevant pieces and the art of making comfort clothes look chic and clean. I’m also about keeping with the theme of athleticism that was huge this past season with mesh jerseys and varsity styles and keeping them big for fall.
As for myself, I love layering black on black and have an affinity for white. I’ll throw in some red or a pastel on occasion and am always pushing the boundaries with bold eyewear, suggestive graphics and tough-girl textiles like vinyl, leather and fishnet. My style has always been punk meets pretty, which can be seen in this look where I’m pairing a delicate, feminine cropped tank top with my favorite black, drop-crotch pant, which is a style I’m excited to be rocking this fall.
When I’m not in class, filming or working on one of my projects, you can find me brunching at Westville East, running around the Lower East Side on the weekends or relaxing at Tompkins Square Park with my friends.
Now that you know some interesting and possibly cool facts about myself and what I’m into, I hope you will enjoy reading about the fabulous, fierce Fashionistas and Fashionistos I find and force to pose ferociously for my column.
