STYLE GURU BIO: Meghan Reza

Hey there, my fashion people! My name is Meghan, and I am so excited (and a little bit sad) to be writing for CollegeFashionista for my fourth and final semester as a Style Guru! As a senior, majoring in Apparel Merchandising with a minor in Marketing at Indiana University, I have so enjoyed my time capturing the seriously RAD street style around my campus. With a passion for writing and an eye for great personal style, I am always looking for new ways to stay updated on styles and trends in the fashion world. What better way to do that than to take inspiration from the wardrobes of my peers? I love this job not only because I get to write about fashion, but because I get to shed some light on the killer street style on display here in Bloomington. We might go to school in a small town surrounded by cornfields, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have a few fashion tricks up our sleeves.

As far as my own personal style goes, I love experimenting and trying different looks from day to day. I don’t exactly dress for one specific style genre, but I also take classic pieces and mix them with bohemian accents, like tons of jewelry and my never-ending collection of hats! I love flouncy frocks, like the piece above, with subtly detailed patterns. A pair of opaque black tights and knee-high suede boots are the perfect extras to take you into spring. Layering necklaces is one of my favorite ways to accessorize; choose a few in similar silhouettes and metals, and pile them on. You’ll never see me without a collection of rings, bracelets and necklaces on. I am a firm believer that jewelry can make or break an outfit, and who doesn’t love adding that perfect finishing touch?

I am currently obsessed with the perfect over-the-knee boot for spring. In a neutral suede and calf-hugging silhouette, these babies will be your new wardrobe bestie. Throw on a pair of tights for extra warmth and, when the weather warms up, pair the boots with an A-line denim mini and a cropped cable knit jumper for a modern take on the groovy ’70s trend that will never go out of style again. Or, swap out the sweater with a sheer, billowy blouse for a more springy vibe.

I cannot wait to go out with a bang and make this spring all about the fabulous Hoosier street style I get to experience on the daily. Follow me to stay updated on articles, fashion advice and lots of RAD stuff during my last semester!
