STYLE GURU BIO: Megan Renkel

Hello all Fashioistas/os! I am back for my second rad semester with CollegeFashionista, and I couldn’t be more excited. At the beginning of last semester, I had just changed my major (for the third time) to journalism. I was pretty worried about how well I would fit into the journalism program but so far it’s going great!

Fashion is something I’ve always been into. Peeking at pictures of me from elementary and middle school it might not look like it, but trust me. I am constantly following trends and seeing what the current craze is, not just in Iowa but everywhere. My favorite thing is when there is a new trend in NYC or LA and watching how long it takes before it’s taking over the Iowa campus.

Something I have been obsessing over for the past year is puffles. Puffs, pom-poms, fur balls you name it because I have no real name for them–those little puffs of fur that you clip onto your purse. Yes, I am obsessed with them. I have one in (almost) every color, and yes I color coordinate with my outfits.

My style has definitely changed since high school. When I was in high school, I was still very into fashion, but I was dressing to match instead of dressing to stand out. I wanted to look like everyone else when I should have been dressing for myself. Since moving to Iowa City a year ago, I’ve really been able to find my personal style and what I feel good in. That being said there is no “one thing” I feel best in. I am constantly changing up my wardrobe and changing my go-to outfits.

Last semester with CollegeFashionista was an amazing one, and I am so excited that I am able to continue this opportunity. Everyone buckle up because I’m taking you on a crazy ride with some RAD reads.
