For those who don’t know me, my name is Megan Lambert. I am a senior at the Florida State University studying Retail Merchandising and I am a returning Style Guru, writing for my second semester at CollegeFashionista. I previously wrote for the WHAT TO WEAR column and now will be writing each Wednesday for the FASHIONISTA/O SPOTLIGHT. As I begin my senior year on this beautiful campus, I look forward to sharing all of the unique styles I find that continue to inspire me every day.
When I am not throwing myself into the fashion world with class, working retail and as a Style Guru, you will find me at the mall shopping and contributing to the absurd amount of clothes in my closet or checking daily on my favorite blog sites and retailers. Okay, basically my life revolves around fashion but I am a firm believer that any dream is attainable with hard work, determination and one killer outfit.
If anyone close to me were to describe my style, I am more than confident that they would back me up when I say “all I wear is black”. I can’t help but to be immediately drawn to this color and actually have to force myself into adding color to my wardrobe. I think there is such a classic, elegant look that black can bring to an outfit. I mean, why else would the little black dress be such a staple for so many years?
Aside from my color choice, I absolutely love to mix feminine pieces with masculine pieces. I go through phases where I want to dress myself in flowy maxis and floral headbands and then I have days when I just seriously need my combat boots and a tank top. I find that the combination of the two creates a unique balance between the two extremes. It’s these kinds of eye-catching styles that upgrade an ordinary outfit to extraordinary walking pieces of art that are what I am looking for on campus. So next time you are rocking an amazing outfit to class, do not be alarmed if a smiling face with a camera in hand approaches you!
