Hi There, my name is Megan Denneny and I’m a shopoholic. That was challenging to admit, but I know this is a safe place where I can share my addiction with fellow fashion lovers. I am thrilled to be a part of the CollegeFashionista family where I can combine my passions for both writing and fashion, all while sharing my favorite trends with y’all.
It all started when I was a little girl, living in a quaint pink house in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. My mother always strived to keep me up-to-date on the latest baby trends such as tiny neon sunglasses and chic printed dresses. As I grew older, I discovered shows such as What Not to Wear and my fashion addiction began to form. I advanced to loyally reading Vogue and and idolizing fashion icons such as Lauren Conrad and Olivia Palermo. The Internet has fed my addiction through the creation of Pinterest and various fashion blogs that have been keeping me up to date with the latest trends. Due to my slight obsession with J.Crew, I decided to get more hands on with fashion and began working at my local store. So here we are, still addicted to fashion and not slowing down anytime soon.
I am blessed to live in the nation’s oldest city with some of the best-dressed Fashionistas/os around. I have a love/hate relationship with the Florida weather, but for now I call this charming city my home. I am a Strategic Communications major with a minor in advertising at Flagler College, and I adore my small school in every way.
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends whether it be soaking up the sun at the beach, or grabbing some delicious pumpkin pancakes downtown at the Yard Bird Cafe. My ideal day of relaxation consists of sipping a spiced chai, cuddled up on the couch with my kitten Leo, while watching the Food Network. As much as I love to relax, I am also extremely passionate about traveling and always aspire to go to unique places and experience new things.
The best word to describe my style is eclectic. I dress to my mood or whatever trend I am currently obsessed with. Some days I take what I like to call the “lazy chic” route where I sport boyfriend jeans and a graphic-t. While other days I seem to try on every article of clothing in my closet to find the perfect “Olivia Palermo approved” look. My most frequented stores range from J.Crew and Loft to Fossil and Anthropologie.
I am grateful to be a Style Guru contributing to the WHAT TO WEAR column for College Fashionista this semester. Instead of seeking therapy, I am excited to continue my fashion addiction and write about what I love most. I cannot wait to share some tips and tricks that will have you prepared for any occasion!
