STYLE GURU BIO: Meg Rotter

Hello, fellow Fashionistas and Fashionistos! My name is Meg Rotter and I am a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. At Wisconsin, I am planning to major in Journalism with certificates in Digital Studies and Graphic Design. It is my second semester as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista and I am extremely excited to continue scouting out campus trends here in Madison.

Growing up, I had always possessed a great love for both writing and fashion. Through CollegeFashionista, I have been able to harness both of my loves into one wonderful experience. At Wisconsin, I also have the privilege of being a Lifestyle Staff Writer for Moda magazine, our campus’s only lifestyle and fashion publication. Both of these wonderful organizations have helped create an outlet for my creative side and have helped me develop my voice as a writer. After graduating, I hope to continue writing and pursue a career at a major fashion publication.

One reason I have always felt drawn to fashion is because of its expressive nature. Fashion offers people the ability to create their own style and implement it into their daily lives. My personal style is classic with a modern edge. I believe that the right accessory can transform your outfit from drab to chic. My latest guilty pleasure when shopping is jewelry. Earrings, bracelets and necklaces always seem to find their way into my shopping bag. In my latest photo shoot, I added a little flair to my white peplum top through the addition of a gold statement necklace.

After spending last semester sharing the personal style of my fellow Badgers, I cannot wait to see what is store for our campus this spring. Be sure to check in with me every Wednesday to see what trends I discover at the University of Wisconsin!
