Time really does fly when you’re having fun—it is absolutely surreal to me that I’ve been on the CollegeFashionista team for almost a full year! For my third semester on board, I could not be more excited to share my fashionable finds while writing for the AROUND TOWN column. However, this time, I will not be reporting from my campus in Providence, Rhode Island or even from my hometown of Boston, Massachusetts; this summer, I will be writing from the Big Apple!
Having grown up with regular visits to the city, I’ve decided to take my professional career in Fashion Marketing to the next level by living in New York City for the summer. Given two internship opportunities in addition to CollegeFashionista, I am truly ecstatic to be living out my dreams here. Although I am a little timid, there is really no better way to get to know the area more than by writing for the AROUND TOWN column! I am so excited to post about local stores on the rise, up and coming boutiques, fashionable figures and much more. What better way to see all of best fashion trends than in one of the world’s fashion capitals?
Every summer, it seems that my style changes from the last. Even since last summer, I’ve seen myself put aside the high-waisted American Apparel jean shorts and go for more classic looks, such boyfriend jeans or button-ups. Now, especially since I will be in New York City, I can already see my summer style beginning to evolve. I am hoping that through my fashion evolution, I will be able to find interest in more areas around town, introduce myself to more fashionable figures or even step into a new and daring store—can’t wait to report my findings!
