STYLE GURU BIO: Meaghan Scally

Hey everyone! My name is Meaghan and I am a freshman at Pace University in New York City, where I’m majoring in communications. Living in New York City has always been a dream of mine, and now it is finally coming true. Being in this city gives me a whole new range of interesting ideas and so many new opportunities. Just walking down the streets of downtown Manhattan is inspiring. Every person I pass by on the street has their own unique sense of style, and it is definitely eye opening for me to see such a wide variety of fashion.

Although I am only in my second semester at Pace, I have already participated in different fashion events in Manhattan. I was lucky enough to get to take a part in a fall fashion show and control the social media for the event. It was an amazing experience, and I would definitely do it again. Being able to see the production of the show and watching the models show off different styles was really captivating.

Social media was a huge part of helping me develop my sense of fashion, whether it was seeing celebrity street style, or just an everyday Fashionista, each photo gave me new ideas and helped influence my personal style. My closet consists of a lot of neutral colors, and black boots. My staple item in my closet is a comfortable pair of black skinny jeans. No matter what I am wearing, I always think that one of my many pairs of black jeans will complete the look. Another item I always have with me is a neutral colored purse. I believe having a good quality purse that will match almost every outfit is really important. In addition, a neutral jacket especially in the winter months is impertinent to stay warm while staying fashionable! I love owning versatile pieces because I’m able to change a single outfit in many ways which saves money, and makes it really fun to put outfits together.

My best fashion advice would be to wear what you want. Wear what makes you happy, not what you think will impress other people. I am very excited to bring some New York City street style to this #RAD semester.
