Hello Fashionista/os! My name is Meagan Sapashe and I am a junior here at the University of South Florida, majoring in Mass Communications with a concentration in Advertising and a double minor in General Business and Sociology. A little over a year ago, I started out my journey here at CollegeFashionista and I am so beyond pumped to be writing for CollegeFashionista once again this semester!
Recently, I came across a quote from Geraldine Stutz that really made me think about my personal style and what exactly it is. “Fashion says ‘me too,’ and style says ‘only me’.” This got me thinking about my own style in regards to fashion and how completely different the two can be. During my time as a Style Guru so far, I have really seen my personal style grow and evolve in ways I never could have imagined! It has become pretty difficult to choose just one word to describe my style, so I tend to just word vomit whenever I am asked about it because it can change drastically from day to day.
The outfit I am wearing here combines a handful of my favorite things: high-waisted denim, graphic T-shirts, flannels, slip-ons and of course, New York City. I’ll be the first to admit that I have “Big City Dreams.” New York City and everything it offers totally draws me in. The adventures are endless in the city and the street style is incomparable to anywhere else in the states. Don’t even get me started on the shopping! Another one of my favorite things is high-waisted denim. High-waisted denim has been a favorite of mine for a while and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. I have recently become obsessed with sneakers, especially slip-ons. They are a great way to make any outfit super casual and they look great with almost anything. Flannels and graphic T-shirts have been a staple in my wardrobe for years. Throwing a flannel on top of any ensemble is a seamless way to add a layer to an already stellar outfit. Plus, they’re the perfect addition on a crisp fall day.
Here’s to a semester filled with taking chances, personal style and lots of fashion fun! I can’t wait to see what the Fashionista/os are loving this fall around the Tampa area and how they incorporate fall trends into their own personal style!
