STYLE GURU BIO: MaryFrances Duggins

Hello, everyone! My name is MaryFrances and this is my second semester as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista. I had a lot of fun snapping pictures and writing about all these stylish Fashionistas/os this past summer, and I wanted to continue it! I’m originally from Maryland, but moved to Cincinnati, Ohio, when I started college at Xavier University. I’m a senior Business Management major and Entrepreneurship minor, and have learned so many things throughout my time here. I think it’s really important to learn about business, no matter what career path you choose, because it helps you think differently and can be applied in so many ways throughout your life.

When it comes to fashion blogging and writing, I’ve been blogging for Skinny Bags for over a year now and love it so much! Even though I’m a Fashion Blogger, I also get to help out with other assignments and jobs they may need (perks of small businesses). Before Skinny Bags, I had interned with LOOKSIMA as a Fashion Blogger Intern where I was first introduced to the online writing world that led me to where I am today. After starting The Fashion Article for my high school newspaper, I was so glad that I was able to continue writing in college.

Outside of writing, I’m also involved in Xavier Women in Business and was elected Vice President for my senior year. I have really loved being involved in this club during my college career by preparing events for our members as we all plan out our lives for after college. Whether we’re having a yoga session or networking with professionals, we always have fun and learn something new!

My outfit in this post made me super excited for fall! The colors of fall are absolutely beautiful, and I truly love wearing boots, scarves and jackets, as well. My style is edgy and feminine with a touch of classic. I love black, and these black jeans are so comfortable to wear PLUS a good classic staple to own. I paired them with a cream quarter sleeve shirt with a lace back that makes it a bit unexpected! I also wore a black plaid scarf that had purple and fuchsia for a pop of color and a cozy feel. Of course, I had my black combat boots (they’re my go-to boots), a gold bracelet and gold earrings. I always love having wavy hair and it really softens up my look.

I can’t wait to share more stylish Fashionistas/os with you as I continue this fall semester. Be sure to follow me on social media; I love meeting new people!
