STYLE GURU BIO: Mary Nealon

Hey, everyone! Welcome to my CollegeFashionista page. You may have seen some of my past posts and if so, I hope you’ve enjoyed them! I’m so glad to be back as a Style Guru for my third consecutive semester and am looking forward to capturing even more fabulous style here at Sacred Heart University. This summer I was fortunate enough to intern in Boston, Massachusetts at both a store called Boutikey and a start-up called Foray Collective, which is an innovative shopping website based on fashion influencers. I learned so much about starting a company, social media strategies and brand partnerships.

I cannot believe my senior year is already here as I feel like I just moved in to my freshman dorm yesterday. This year I’ll be finishing my marketing and fashion merchandising degree, as well as hopefully completing one more fashion internship in New York City. It’s so crazy to think that a year from now I will be done with school and (hopefully) working for a company in the fashion industry. For now, I will enjoy this last year on campus with my friends, working and staying active as co-president of Sacred Heart’s Fashion Club.

My style here is an end-of-summer/early-fall look. I especially love my knitted kimono and sun hat. As you can see with the kimono, I’m loving this season’s fringe trend. I’m also wearing some destroyed high-waisted shorts which are certainly a summer staple of mine but unfortunately won’t be worn much longer. My casual look is finished off with brown cross-strap sandals.

Thank you again for all your interest and support thus far and stay tuned for more amazing style this semester!
