First thing’s first: I totally stole this jacket from my mom’s closet. In all fairness, she hasn’t worn in it what I’m assuming is about 15 years though. And what’s better than a dope leather jacket? A hand-me-down leather jacket, of course.

But let’s not get distracted. Hello and happy new year, my fellow Fashionistas/os! I can’t even begin to express how thrilled I am to be back for my third (yes, third) semester with CollegeFashionista, and see what fashion adventures are in store for me in 2015. This year is definitely going to be full of surprises; I’m graduating from UNM this spring, producing a short film and as I write this I’m on the plane to Tokyo. Where, by the time you’ll be reading this, I’ll have rung in the new year and then jetted off to Bali almost immediately after. Definitely a running start to what’s bound to be an insane new year of running around taking note of my fellow Fashionistas/os where I can—and hopefully, gain new sartorial challenges to pull inspiration from.

While everything definitely seems a bit up in the air (the pun is not lost on me), one thing is certain: a new year’s resolution. This year, I resolve to challenge my typical lazy morning uniform and exchange it for both (hopefully) a bit a more polish and a bit more edginess. After all, I think by now we all know how much I can’t resist some intense shoes and a good leather jacket. Maybe it’s time to switch things up just a bit for 2015.
