Hello everyone! I am so excited to be writing for CollegeFashionista for my first time this summer! Summer is my favorite season, especially for fashion. The breezy white dresses and denim cutoffs are some of my personal favorites to wear during the warm sunny months.

This fall, I will be a junior at Kent State University while I work towards my degree in Fashion Merchandising with a minor in Fashion Media. Although I am home in California for the summer, I will still be capturing young and vibrant Fashionistas/os on my west coast adventures.

Being from California, the state has definitely left its mark on my own personal style. There is such a strong sense of style from Los Angeles to San Francisco that it is hard to not be interested in fashion. I have been interested in it for as long as I can remember. From the age of ten years old I decided I was going to do something in the fashion industry and here I am ten years later still working towards that goal. I am also still working on and honing in on my personal style. In California, there is a strong boho influence and that influence has made its way into many parts of my life, especially fashion (think Free People and Anthropologie). Big hats and turquoise are probably my favorite part of the boho trend. I do not like to limit myself to this one particular style, though. I will mix in many different styles into my outfits each day, making it eclectic and all my own. My style is always evolving, and I think it always will be, but my California roots will never completely leave me.

Personal style is about taking pieces and making them your own. Mixing many different styles into one to make a statement each day. I do not think we need to put ourselves in small categories and dress like that for the rest of our lives, but try new things and getting out of our comfort zones every once on a while.

I am looking forward to sharing my style and others for my time here at CollegeFashionista with you all!
