Hey, everyone! My name is Marissa and I’m studying English communications with minors in dance, marketing and psychology at Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island. In my free time, I love dancing, traveling, trying new food and going to concerts. I’m so excited to begin my second semester as a Style Guru and to actually be able to capture some rad outfits on campus!
After being a Style Guru intern for the summer, I have really began to see my style evolve. While before I was not accustomed to taking bold fashion risks, I have now found myself incorporating funky hats, dressy heels or statement jewelry into my outfits. I have learned that it usually takes the same amount of time to put together a fashionable outfit that it takes to throw on the first thing you see, so why not choose to look cute?
Being a Style Guru intern has also provided me with an outlet for inspiration and made me more confident. It is awesome to be a part of a group of such hardworking, career-driven women who only want to see each other succeed. I love listening to CollegeFashionista’s Office Hours because it provides me with weekly inspiration and advice from successful people in the fashion industry. I have had nothing but a positive experience with CollegeFashionista, which is why I’m so excited to see myself grow even more within my style and writing during this semester.
I can’t wait to share all of the awesome fashion I see this fall. Newport is definitely a stylish city, so I can assure you there will not be a shortage of Fashionistas.
