STYLE GURU BIO: Marissa Dodd

Well hello Fashionistas/os! Let me begin by introducing myself, my name is Marissa Dodd. I am going into my junior year at Liberty University as a Business Marketing major with a minor in Clothing and Textiles. This is my second semester as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista. I have been interested in fashion ever since I can remember and my style has always been the easiest way for me to express myself, although it changes on an everyday basis. My hobbies include avidly checking Instagram with a cup of coffee in my hand and finding new DIY projects to try on Pinterest.

I don’t know about you but I think winter is one of the hardest seasons to dress for. You can pick out a solid outfit but then you have to think about what scarf and jacket you’ll wear and it adds so much extra effort to the morning. Effort that none of us have; am I right? With my style, I tend to stick to a very neutral color palette and add statement items to make the outfit my own. There’s never a day when I don’t throw on a piece of gold jewelry. A little something to know about me is I have a weird obsession with gold. I cannot wear silver jewelry, it just doesn’t happen. Black booties are literally the only shoes I wear in the fall and winter seasons, so if I can give you any advice this semester it would be to pick up a pair for yourself. For this outfit I tried to stay chic with an all black outfit but add a little edge by adding black ripped jeans and a flannel wrapped around my waist. I kept my jewelry simple, and gold, and of course my black booties to finish off the outfit.

So with all that said, I am so excited to be back as a Style Guru for this semester, I hope you are ready for a #RAD semester full of style and I hope I am able to inspire you throughout my posts to stay strong and stylish throughout this semester.
