My name is Marie Langlade-Demoyen and I am a second year student in political science at McGill University. I was born in Paris but I’ve lived my entire life in London, UK. I’ve always loved fashion as long as I can remember. I enjoy keeping updated on the haute couture fashion shows in Paris whilst also exploring the hipster areas of London to find new styles. I love shopping at shops like Urban Outfitters and Zara but my true passion is finding the unique pieces of jewelry and the dresses that nobody else will have in the vintage shops and the little markets. I find it fun to experiment with mixing different colours and materials together.
As I travel often, I like to find items from each place. It’s more fun than buying just for the sake of buying as it gives an extra sentimental meaning to the clothing I have. Traveling is my true source of inspiration for my style. I like to wear clothes from different countries together to give my outfit a certain uniqueness. Fashion for me definitely is like a form of art.
I would say my style has really changed greatly throughout the years and now it still varies every day depending on what inspires me. One of my style icons would have to be Alexa Chung as she truly defines the London style and can be both chic and very edgy.
I’m so excited to be a CollegeFashionista this semester. It combines my two passions: finding original and unique fashion choices and photographing them. This will give me the chance to explore the campus trends more and find Fashionistas that brave the harsh Montreal winter in the name of fashion. I hope everyone will enjoy my findings and will be inspired to become creative with fashion and have fun with it!
