Wow! It’s hard to believe that I already have two years under my belt at Kent State University. Next semester I will start my junior year as a Fashion Merchandising major with minors in Marketing and Fashion Media! No more messing around or tromping around campus in my Converse. I need to throw out the sneakers and trade them for in for heels, if I’m feeling up to it. Maybe senior year….or never.

Next semester I’m off to Florence, Italy for a whirlwind study-abroad experience. I’ve been looking forward to this trip since visiting Italy back in 2013. Now after two short years, I’m ready to return to the sweet life under the Tuscan sun. Studying abroad has been a non-negotiable for me since I was a little girl, I just can’t believe that it’s happening, and so quickly! Time is running out for me to plan side trips and pack all my clothing. Honestly, deciding what to bring will be the hardest part since I want to bring my whole wardrobe with me. Hopefully I will be able to par down my closet to the essentials by the end of summer. I’ll keep my fingers crossed in the meantime.

As for this summer, I plan to get my tan on outside capturing the latest trends. I will travel back and forth between my home base, Grand Rapids, Michigan and Kent, Ohio (my home away from home). I am originally from the Grand Rapids area, which is only 30 minutes away from the glorious shores of Lake Michigan. The city has been up-and-coming for several years now, making for some eclectic style spotting. I plan to travel to Kent frequently during the summer, to stay in touch with friends and hit up the Ohio fashion scene. I’ll probably be wearing my easy-breezy romper, fedora and Birkenstocks combo. I just can’t get enough of my Birkenstocks recently.

I’m stoked to start this fashion journey with CollegeFashionista this summer! Hopefully I can conjure up some wicked posts, making you run to your closet in search of items to create that inspirational outfit.
