STYLE GURU BIO: Maggie Holly

Hey Fashionistas, welcome to my crib! I’m Maggie, and I’m a senior English major at Presbyterian College with minors in French, psychology, and women’s and gender studies.  Although my college is located in the booming metropolis of Clinton, South Carolina, I hail from a little town a hop and a skip north of Atlanta. I love cats, soup, literature, films that make me think, and the undeniable spontaneity of the universe. I hate cockroaches, wet socks, and people who are rude to their waiters. I’m an undeniable nerd and an out and proud weirdo—being normal is boring.
I would describe my personal style as “lazy-girl chic,” looking good and feeling good. My style icons include my mother through various decades (especially the ’80s), 1970s Carly Simon, Captain Jack Sparrow, and any number of 90s rom-com leading ladies. I see fashion as an outward expression of personality, and I love to have fun with my clothes while showing off who I am! I’m a proud thrifting addict, and I’m always showing off my latest second-hand gems. I love mixing old and new—vintage mom jeans with slick new sneakers, hand-me-down military jackets with slinky mini dresses. I’m a firm believer that any outfit can be improved with the right quirky piece of jewelry.
I’m so excited to be a Style Guru during my last semester of college, and I cannot wait to see where this adventure takes me and my fellow fashion lovers! Remember always: have fun, be yourself, and everything else will come naturally!
For this look, I went with a classic, casual all black look with my vintage army jacket. I paired a simple black T-shirt with my trusty white Converse and a black leather backpack for my perfect running errands outfit!
