STYLE GURU BIO: Madison Brunner

Hi everyone! I am so excited to spend another semester writing for CollegeFashionista. I am currently a senior studying marketing management at Duquesne University, a private school in the heart of downtown Pittsburgh with a wonderful view of the city skyline, rivers and many yellow bridges.

Last semester, CollegeFashionista gave me the opportunity to connect with fashion enthusiasts around the country. I really enjoy watching trends come from magazines and runways to the social media sites of CollegeFashionista’s Style Gurus. It is interesting to see young fashion insiders put their personal twist on fast fashion trends and styles.

It is hard to describe my style as it’s constantly changing, but I always love to wear classic pieces and the color black. Currently, my favorite trends are over-the-knee boots and everything velvet. I take advantage of any opportunity to wear a dress because they are comfortable and stylish! I love DIY fashion projects because they allow you to save money and customize a look to fit your style. Most recently, I made distressed boyfriend jeans using denim I purchased at a local thrift store.

My dream job is to open my own local boutique similar to my favorite store, Francesca’s. This would give me the opportunity to manage all aspects of business including buying, marketing, and writing for an online blog. I love the concept of buying. It brings the opportunity to create new styles by combining the best articles of clothing from different wholesale brands. But for now, I’m sharing my personal fashion combinations and style advice with the CollegeFashionista community.
