STYLE GURU BIO: Madeline Farina

Hello my fellow Fashionista/os! I am elated to be writing for CollegeFashionista as a Style Guru for the third semester in a row! My name is Madeline Farina and I am a sophomore and fashion merchandising major at Kent State University. I absolutely love being able to document all of the fantastic style of my peers on campus. Kent students definitely know how to dress.

Fashion has always been a huge part of my life. I try to always leave the house or dorm pleased with how I look. Sometimes that can be a bit of a challenge. At this point in the year, I’d have to describe my style as “bundled chic.” The winters in Kent, Ohio take no prisoners and so one must be prepared. Catch me walking to class with a scarf wrapped around my face, wearing leggings under my jeans and a huge puffy coat zipped up to my nose. When the weather is less ruthless and doesn’t totally constitute my outfit options, I prefer the minimalistic look. I love the color black (some may argue that I love it a little too much), and I gravitate toward simple and effortless looking ensembles. For the outfit that I’m wearing in the pictures above, I chose a classic black sweater over a flowy patterned dress and my black ankle boots that you will rarely ever see me not wearing. Such is a typical outfit by yours truly.

I remember so clearly when I was in high school and I was eagerly flipping through my latest Teen Vogue magazine and I first read about CollegeFashionista. It quickly became one of my most visited websites and to be writing for it now is so exciting. I cannot wait to be a part of it again for and to get started!
