STYLE GURU BIO: Lyuda Kusel

‘Ello there! My name is Lyuda (pronounced like loo-da). I’m just kicking off the start of my senior year at Indiana University, where I’m studying Apparel Merchandising with minors in Business and Fashion Design. I have a passion for fashion, which may sound cheesy, but it’s true! I can remember back in third grade when I first started drawing clothes and digging into my mom’s glamorous issues of Vogue magazine. Beginning college, I was hesitant about what to major in. After a while, I realized I should go with my gut instinct. Now, I’m pursuing my dreams and I couldn’t be more thrilled for what lies ahead in my future. I couldn’t imagine myself doing something else.

As for my personal style, I love to mix the minimal aesthetic with a little bit of bohemian flair. I like to keep it simple while still showing off a fun, unique piece. I prefer to rock neutral tones because they are easy to throw together. For fall, my favorite item in my closet right now is my muted green jacket, which I can throw over anything! It adds a sophistacted layer to any top or dress. You can’t deny yourself of a graphic T-shirt. I mean, it basically does the talking for you! I also love metallic embroidered soft shorts for summer—they are comfy and chic!

I’m so excited to begin my first semester with CollegeFashionista! I can’t wait to write more and show you guys the awesome style we have at IU. Stay tuned!
