STYLE GURU BIO: Lyndee Boyce

Hello, darlings! I’m back for yet another RAD semester! I have had such a blast being a Style Guru these last few semesters that it was a no brainer that I would spend my final semester of school with CollegeFashionista.

It still remains a mystery to me as to how a girl from a small town in suburban Minnesota came to have such a burning love for fashion. It might not come as a shock that Minnesota is not exactly a thriving place for fashion, but somehow I got hooked. Fashion has always been something that is incredibly important to me. My life literally revolves around it. This spring, I am finishing up my degree in fashion design at Columbia College Chicago. In my spare time I can be found at home in my Lincoln Park apartment listening to my David Bowie records, watching endless Sex and the City reruns (Where are all my Carries at?) with my cat, Eleanor Rigby (yes, like the Beatle’s song) or reading the latest issue of Vogue, Elle, and Glamour.

In my opinion, having a great sense of style is indispensable. My personal style could be described as bold and over the top, but I really just like to have fun with fashion. What you’re wearing is the first thing people notice about you and shows people a glimpse of your personality. The last thing I want to be perceived as is boring, so I try to make my day-to-day outfits as exciting and fresh as I can. For this look I tied a distressed AC/DC t-shirt into a crop top, and paired it with metallic trousers. I wore my red ankle boots for a pop of color and toped it off with a faux fur coat.

I am really excited for what this spring will bring and will savor my last few months as a Style Guru. I hope that throughout the semester I can give some inspiration to you, so stay tuned!
