Hey everyone! I’m Lulu and I am excited to be contributing again to the CollegeFashionista community. This September, I will be starting my second year as a commerce student at Queen’s University. I was previously the winter 2013 Style Guru for Tuesday’s LET’S HEAR IT FOR THE BOYS column. This semester, I will no longer be lurking campus for only men’s fashion. My new domain has changed to STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK. I like to think of it as a new title for a new year.
My fashion love story began long before becoming a Style Guru. It’s hard to pinpoint the exact date or year; I only know for sure that as I grew up in age, my love for fashion also grew. At age nine, I would draw clothes into my journal instead of writing about how my day went. At age 14, I made word documents of my favorite runway looks. At my present age, I am currently enjoying how CollegeFashionista has brought me the opportunity to capture the world of fashion via street style.
One thing that describes the way I dress is the fact that I love DIY. However, instead of adding items to clothes, I prefer to take parts off. This particular dress used to have sleeves on it. That was up until I decided the dress would be better off as a tank dress.
My style can also be described with the words pattern and silk. The reason why I frequent certain stores or favor certain brands is due to my love for soft silk. Patterns are also present in my wardrobe and are the reason I am able to take certain fashion risks. These risks include pairing two different patterns in the same outfit or wearing a statement pattern.
Once again, I am excited to be back and hope this year will be just a great as the last.
