Hey Fashionistas, my name is Lizzy Regnery! I am sophomore at University of North Carolina at Wilmington. I am studying communications and studio art. I am so excited to be a part of the CollegeFashionista team! I love UNCW for many reasons such as the beach, surfing, my sorority (Phi Mu) and so much more. Wilmington is all about good vibes and a slow pace of life, I feel right at home.
I grew up in Winston Salem, North Carolina where I developed my sense of style. I’ve always loved putting outfits together and accessorizing. My style is a direct reflection of my personality, which is probably pretty common with all Fashionistas. I would describe it as cool, relaxed, beachy and bohemian. My first love is art and older music; I think it shows in my wardrobe I love color, textures and anything vintage. I have always been stuck in the ’60s and ’70s eras, I’m just glad it’s back in style now. My staples are definitely flare jeans, round frame sunglasses and anything bell sleeved. I draw a lot of inspiration from Stevie Nicks and The Salty Blonde (check her out on Instagram, she rocks).
In my free time I love making my own jewelry, especially rings. Last summer my grandfather who’s been creating his own silver jewelry since the ’70s taught me how to make my own jewelry. He is definitely the most creative and patient guy I have ever known. You can almost always see me sporting at least one ring on every finger. I have an obsession with turquoise; it is my favorite stone to work with. Look out for my unique, one of a kind jewelry pieces in my pictures! Fashion has always been a big part of who I am. I love to be different and stand out from the crowd and to make a statement. Confidence is key to fashion (and life) you can wear whatever you want if you wear it with confidence!
