Hello my beautiful Fashionistas/os! My name is Lindsey Morris and I am so happy to say I will be a Style Guru for the summer! I was so excited when I learned I was accepted to be a Style Guru; I have never really written a blog before, but I thought if I was going to, it might as well be about my one and true passion in life: fashion.
I am a size 22, so that’s not your average size, but you have to work with what you’ve got, and I think I work it pretty well. I am a 22-year-old Native American girl who lives in Lawrence, Kansas. Lawrence is mainly known for the University of Kansas, but I am a student at the other university in this beautiful town that not a lot of people know about. Haskell Indian Nations University, my second home, is where my parents met and where I spent my years growing up watching my dad coach football and is now where I go to school.
I love my school because it is a school for only Native American students, which is different because you don’t usually see schools limited to one ethnicity. But that’s not the only reason I love it. There are so many different people from different places who come to school with me, from Alaska to Florida. The styles are different, too!
I am a little different from my classmates, because I grew up in Lawrence and I am just a girly girl. I love sparkles on everything! I believe that cheetah print is a neutral, and red lipstick can change your life. I am a bigger size but that doesn’t stop me from blowing a lot of my money on clothes. I am not a huge fan of pants, because of they are way too much work; but summertime is for dresses! Dresses are the easiest things to put on for summer: you take a shower, get ready and then slip a dress on that might take me half an hour to do and I’m out the door.
I like to wear my Birkenstocks with mine most of the time, but if I’m trying to dress it up I like to put on my favorite cheetah print wedges. I loved them so much that I bought a pair in every color they had. I also love my jewelry! I love fun and bright colored jewels, and statement necklaces are my absolute favorite. The bigger the better! They are great to pair with a simple black dress and some fun shoes. I am so excited to be working with CollegeFashionista this summer, and I can’t wait for what the rest of the summer holds.
