Guess who’s back, back again… Hey guys! For those of you who do not know me, my name is Leah Vitrano, and I am currently a sophomore majoring in Interior Design at High Point University. This is my second semester with CollegeFashionista, and I could not be more thrilled to be writing the ACCESSORIES REPORT column covering spring fashion around campus!
Being an interior design major, art has been a field in which I thrive. I am drawn to details. Just as the right print on a pillow can make for a visually appealing room, I strongly believe that the right accessories can make or break an outfit.
In the words of Anna Wintour, “Create your own style… let it be unique for yourself and yet identifiable for others.” To me this quote speaks to my personal style. I am all about pushing the boundaries — I look for pieces that will make me stand out as an individual. I generally gravitate towards edgier pieces; black is always apart of my ensemble in some way or another with the addition of my go-to military-inspired green jacket. Factoring in the cold weather of High Point, North Carolina, boots are my shoe of choice, specifically my patent, pewter Dr. Martens. Although I consider my style edgy, I never hesitate to include a little bit of glam through my accessories. After all, a little glitter never killed nobody!
The outfit I have chosen to wear today truly represents me. I have chosen a blend of edgier pieces with a preppy influence through my ripped black jeans as well as a polka-dot chambray, neon bracelet and two-toned glitter clutch from J.Crew. To finish my look I opted for a pair of Ray-Ban flash lenses, a jagged silver necklace, a pair of T.U.K. creepers and to top it off an all-glam red lip.
I cannot wait to see what HPU is wearing this spring semester, for I will be on the lookout for one of a kind pieces that define your personal style!
