STYLE GURU BIO: Lea Chen

Transport yourself to a gorgeous, sunny beach and the sweats rolling down your forehead and you can’t help but want one thing: ice cream. I’d like to think that I’m that ice cream on a hot day, bringing much-needed joy to cast a smile on your face in the sweetest way possible. But I’m not just any ol’ typical vanilla or chocolate. I’m the wacky flavor you’ve never heard of that’s bright and filled with yummy surprises like cookie dough or marshmallows.

My name is Lea, but you can call me Sunshine if you’d like. I’m a student at the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business, and ever since I stepped foot onto this earth, fashion has been my game. I live my life with one main motto: you do you and do it well. I personally believe that you can wear anything in the whole world and find a way to own it, as long as you’re keeping your chin held high and rocking it with confidence.

This mentality directly translates to my style, so you won’t see me in anything tame. My colors are bold and my prints are loud, but I love it all. One time my friend asked me to describe my aesthetic, and I groaned with an ugly ugh (reminiscent of some type of gorilla) because that’s a question I dread. It’s hard to describe an aesthetic that is unafraid to uncover any realm of style, so I just let myself answer that question with “unapologetic.” If you don’t like that answer well then… too bad. Fashion is the mega force it is because someone was bold enough to change it. I’m that someone, but don’t forget, I’m technically also some super satisfying ice cream too.
