My name is Lauren Snyder, and I am a junior Marketing and Management Information Systems major at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I’m excited to say that this spring marks my one year as a Style Guru with the fantastic CollegeFashionista team, and I can’t wait to continue documenting Temple’s Fashionistas/os in the WHAT TO WEAR report.
Joining the CollegeFashionista team has been one of the best experiences of my college career. In my year as a Style Guru, I have had the opportunity to write for the ACCESSORIES REPORT and STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK columns, and I was even able to contribute my interior design advice and DIY ideas to CollegeDormista.
As a business student, CollegeFashionista makes me feel connected to the industry that I love and aspire to work in. Amidst a flurry of finance and marketing courses, I love taking a break and spotting stylish students on campus. Being a Style Guru perfectly caters to my fashion obsession and leaves room for tons of creativity.
All this attention to style has also taught me more about my own personal fashion sense. I’d describe my style as feminine and whimsical with a twist. I love to wear bright colors, leopard prints and statement jewelry to punch up my basics. A few of my current must-haves include skater skirts, anything with faux fur and a great pair of leather booties. Playing with different textures and styles is one of my favorite ways to put together a look. For example, I’m loving the feminine look and feel of this tulle skirt mixed with an edgy motorcycle jacket.
I can’t wait to see where another semester with CollegeFashionista takes me. I hope you’ll be following along as I give advice for what to wear to every occasion in Thursday’s column!
