My name is Lauren and I am a junior at Temple University majoring in Marketing and Management Information Systems. I am thrilled to announce that I’ll be continuing my experience with CollegeFashionista as the Head Style Guru for Temple and a contributor to the STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK section of the site. This fall, I will also be writing for CollegeDormista, a new editorial feature with an emphasis on interior design — so be sure to check out the launch of this creative column for inspiration to make your dorm room just as fabulous as your wardrobe.
Growing up, I was constantly obsessed with making my room the most beautiful space in the house. From arranging my stuffed animal collection into a masterpiece to choosing the perfect Minnie Mouse bedding for my canopy bed, interior décor and design has always been a passion of mine.
I have matured since my Disney days but still find that my personal style influences my interior choices. I love to play with colors and patterns to create a classic look with a twist. For instance, just as I love accenting an outfit with a bold bag, I look to a bright pillow to add a splash of color to a room. And, being the shoe addict that I am, I hope to one-day find the perfect pair of shoes to display as artwork on my bookshelf.
I can’t wait to report on the most fashionable faces and spaces on Temple’s campus this fall and hope to inspire you to bridge the gap between street style and interior design.
