STYLE GURU BIO: Lauren Saltis

Hey there, kids! I’m Lauren Saltis or Salty if you prefer. I’m notoriously known for my love for coffee, bacon and kale in that order. I am currently a senior at Xavier University majoring in Advertising and Public Relations. When I’m not running to and from classes because of my knack of over-estimating how much time I have, I’m writing, painting or training in the gym. My guilty pleasures include the Kardashians, donuts and over-priced beauty products.

Art plays such a huge role in my life, and I use that same inspirational influence in how I view the fashion world as well. Creativity, inspiration and simplicity are just as fluent and alive in fashion as they are in art to me. So, I take creating an outfit at the same degree as writing a short story or even painting. Creating a look is a process that takes time, attention to detail and I love it. Ever since I was able to dress myself, I took into account how I felt and how I could portray that into my outfit. Not promising all the outfits were perfect. But then again, who is? How boring would life be with only perfect people?

I would describe my style today as, emotionally guided. I like to reflect my mood with how I dress. So, if I am feeling confident I might rock some black leather pants. Or if I am feeling elated, I might wear head to toe denim with some great kicks. It all just depends on my mood when I wake up each morning and how soon coffee is consumed. So expect to see a huge variation in my style this fall.

Another thing you’ll come to learn is that workout clothes are my weakness. Because I love going to the gym, I feel as if I need a separate closet for all my smelly sneakers and armfuls of sports bras. For now, an extra drawer in the back of my small closet will have to do. A girl can dream though, right?

So, I will try to break out of the allure of spandex and capture more chic street styles to share with the world. With that being said, I am so excited to be apart of the CollegeFashionista community as a Style Guru. Cheers Friends!
