STYLE GURU BIO: Lauren Countryman

Hi, hello! This will be my second semester as a Style Guru and I’m super excited to share styles with you this fall. I am currently attending college in Upstate, New York which also happens to be where I was born and raised. I’m working towards graduation in May of 2016 and looking to further my degree in Fashion Business afterwards. When I am not taking classes, doing homework or working at my part-time job, I am found doing something with fashion. Whether that be blogging, shopping (for anything and everything), styling, reading or finding awesome vintage pieces for my wardrobe.

My greatest loves are my dogs, traveling, the beach, good food and finer company. I studied abroad last year in Florence, Italy and it was a life changing experience, I highly recommend it to anyone interested. I will be transferring and moving within the next year to a new city to start a new chapter; meanwhile, my looks will change with my mood.

My look was one that was inspired by fashion week attendees but worn for the first week of classes. It fit the same purpose—chic yet fun and casual for a long day/nighttime schedule. As I started to get my camera ready, I recalled that my first bio also featured my favorite leather jacket. How ironic. However, I love it so much I always find myself trying out new ways to wear it. The cuffed hem of my loose fit, pleated trousers in combination with the outerwear, sneakers and simple black tank top it created a new and unexpected look. These usually not-so-casual pants have a different vibe when paired with seriously laid back pieces that make up the rest of the ensemble.

Stay tuned as I will be posting a bit of my own style in addition to a lot of campus street style from my Upstate, New York school. You’ll see the inevitable layers, leaves and worse—snow. Until then, wishing you all a happy, stress-free start to the semester; keep wearing and working for what makes you happy. You never know who might be inspired by your outfit.
