STYLE GURU BIO: Lauren Copeland

Hello college Fashionistas/os, I’m Lauren Copeland and I’m returning for my second summer semester as a CollegeFashionista Style Guru and I couldn’t be more thrilled! I can’t wait to showcase the diverse fashion that the University of Central Florida has to offer. I am bound to have an array of fashion styles to show while attending the second largest university in the country.

Coco Chanel once said: “Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.” I truly in my heart believe that about the fashion industry and my evolving style. Since working at Anthropologie, I have been exposed to the creativity in the clothing to the displays on the wall. Working there has taught and helped me find my own fashion identity. Being surrounded by art every time I go to work allows me to learn and create new outfits that I would have never thought of.

Being the Florida girl I am, I live in light materials and neutral colors. I gravitate toward neutrals that I can add a pop of color too by adding a fun statement piece. I am all about styles that I can use with my essentials while using different pieces that can turn them into something completely different. With essentials I believe that everyone needs go-to pieces in their closet. Chambray shirts are definitely one my go-to pieces. This summer, I will be living in maxi dresses and skirts that are light materials that will allow me utilize them to turn it into a completely different look. Accessories honestly make or break an outfit and help elevate it. People have their preferences of what jewelry feels comfortable on them, but I love it all.I have always been a statement necklace kind of girl, as sometimes I love to play around with rings and put different styles on all five fingers. Even if it’s from wearing a simple necklace or pearl earrings, it is still better then wearing nothing.

This semester don’t forget to check out my articles and see what I’ll be up too! Until next time Fashionistas/os!
