STYLE GURU BIO: Kylie Souder

May 26th, 2015 at 2:00am

Well, hello there! My name is Kylie Souder and I’m a junior Journalism major at Ohio University with minors in Marketing and also Retail, Fashion, and Product Development. My love for fashion stemmed from my Teen Vogue collection dating back to 2008, around the age of 13. I dreamed of seeing my name in that magazine, and my path was set into fashion writing from that time on.

My aesthetic is very Anthropologie meets kate spade. Streamlined silhouettes, feminine features and little bits of gold are my fashion favorites. I like to think that less is more and I tend to gravitate towards neutral colors and simple fabrics. Pretty denim with a simple white top is my go-to outfit in any season. I’ve been working more with patterns and color to enhance my wardrobe and plan to incorporate more design with my already owned solids. My petite stature, five-foot-one, has me shopping from the kid’s section allowing for a larger range of options, luckily not seen on everyone else.

My extracurricular activities keep me a busy bee; working with the PR team for Ohio University’s ImPRessions, a wholly run student PR firm; writing for Thread Magazine, OU’s online fashion publication; being a campus brand representative for Southern Proper; Style Chapter President of OU’s Alpha Xi Delta for Sororitystylista.com; Alumni Relations Chair for Alpha Xi Delta, also working alongside their PR team; and finally, contributing to my own personal style blog.

In my downtime, I love photography, yoga, taking my “Outfit of the Day” pictures for my Instagram account, trying out new restaurants and all things Parks and Recreation. Also, you’ll probably never see me without Starbucks in hand.

I’m so excited for the opportunity to be a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista this summer, and I can’t wait for you to see what I have in store!
