STYLE GURU BIO: Kseniya Dobrovolsky

Hello everyone! My name is Kseniya Dobrovolsky and I’m back for round two. Last semester, I was roaming around Europe sipping on café con leche and practicing my Spanish skills in the very heart of Catalonia. Living in the Gaudí inspired, sunny city of Barcelona has been nothing short of wonderful. I mean, if I could spend every lunch break walking through Passeig de Gràcia and stopping in every boutique on every corner, I would be perfectly content. What I loved most about this seaside city and other trendy cities that I visited, like Monaco and London, was the fashion. Particularly in Barcelona, I was obsessed with street style hipster Fashionistas. From daring platforms to bomber jackets galore, inspiration was around every coffee shop, local market and metro station. Now since I am back in the States, I hope to take those inspirations and incorporate them into my very own looks. I’m excited to spend the summer in my good ole’ home state Connecticut and focus on fashion outside the city life.

Being completely immersed in the Spanish city, my preference for coffee (espresso, please!) is not the only thing that has changed. My love for fashion and street chic apparel has intensified. As I recorded this spring, Barcelona Fashionistas are not afraid to stand out in the crowd wearing their latest spunky pencil-thin pants, oversized scarves and distressed details. Living in this cosmopolitan city, I took a few of these trends into my own wardrobe. Shopping in stores such as Zara and Mango, I found a new love for the street style, chic look. I have started to play more with textures and layers, particularly by pairing my favorite bomber jacket with distressed denim and bold colored bags. As always, I accessorize with arm candy and my favorite gold kate spade watch. My style screams comfort and chic and represents my favorite fashion trends.

I am greatly looking forward to my second CollegeFashionista experience. The past five months of writing about fashion from abroad and photographing in the streets of Spain have immensely improved my skills in both of those areas. CollegeFashionista has allowed me to connect my passion for writing with my love for unique, inspirational looks. I am excited to continue to translate these passions through my articles this summer!
