STYLE GURU BIO: Kseniya Dobrovolsky

Hi guys! My name is Kseniya Dobrovolsky, and I will be entering my second semester of my junior year as a marketing major at Stonehill College. Born in Minsk, Belarus (a country in Eastern Europe for those who may not know), I came to America when I was just seven years old. From an awkward Hollister loving, braces wearing middle schooler, to nothing but ripped jeans and flowy tank tops, my style has been through highs and lows and everything in-between.

Now, as a 20-fun-year-old, I feel that my style is classic and chic. I stick to a few basics in my closet: a few pairs of the perfect fit skinny jeans, open back shirts, an array of dresses and the perfect black leather jacket. I also have a large collection of jewelry (earrings are my favorite!) and a few signature bags that tie in any look. My color palette usually consists of denim, green, blue or black. Looking at whom I follow on Instagram, Twitter and Tumblr, it’s clear that I get my inspiration from city girls like Blake Lively, Lauren Conrad and Shay Mitchell.

Once the weather hits the low 50s, my favorite outfits include tights and a bold jacket. To avoid the chilly weather, adding tights to any skirt, dress or even shorts not only makes me warmer but also completes my edgy look. Pairing them with a statement jacket adds layers to my outfit and brings attention to my use of texture. Also, though I tend to stay away from brand named items, lately I have been obsessing over my girl kate spade. This brand stands out to me because of its mix of simple, crisp colors and graphic prints. I love the playful yet sophisticated character that kate spade can add.

With this being my first semester as a Style Guru, I am excited to announce that I will be capturing fashion in Spain at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona! Naturally falling in love with this city after watching The Cheetah Girls, I am super pumped to be studying abroad in the vibrant city filled with rich architecture and street art around each corner. Though I am nervous out of my mind, I cannot wait to strut through the streets like the Cheetah Girls, eat mouthwatering tapas and catch the latest Spanish fashion trends. This cosmopolitan city has an array of Fashionistas, typically sporting neutral colors and chic, stylish outfits. With this said, continue reading my articles if you want to catch up on the latest stylish students in Barcelona! ¡Hasta luego!
