Hey there Fashionista/os! My name is Krystal Martin and I am a junior at Columbia College Chicago majoring in fashion business with a minor in public relations. Attending college in a city, I find it difficult at times to keep up with the fashion scene. But challenge accepted!
My mood always reflects my style of the day. High-waisted jeans, a loose fitted shirt and a great pair of heels is my go-to look. You won’t find much color in my wardrobe. I often find myself choosing neutral colors that will go with everything instead. I like to wear my pop of color on my feet. Colorful heels can pull the entire look together. I shop for solid shirts and skirts that I can later mix and match and re-wear.
I spend hours on Instagram and Pinterest daily. I’m always looking for my next outfit inspo. With many fashion icons out there, I tweak their looks with my own personal touch. Social media keeps me on my toes and up to date with the latest fashion trends. Currently, I’m really into off the shoulder tops, slip dresses and a great lip. Whether it’s lip gloss or lipstick, a bold lip can make your outfit pop.
I get told I overdress pretty often. But hey don’t they say it is better to be overdressed than underdressed? As a first time writer for CollegeFashionista, I hope your ready to see a side of Chicago’s fashion scene through a different set of eyes.
