STYLE GURU BIO: Kristine Legaspi

Hello fall and hello fellow Fashionistas and Fashionistos! My name is Kristine Legaspi and this fall, I am entering my third year as an undergraduate business administration student at University of California Riverside. After hearing about this internship from my friends, I decided to give it a shot. Now, I am happy to announce that this is my first semester as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista! I am grateful to have this opportunity and I am excited to see what this experience has in store for me!

I have always loved dressing up, but at the same time, I would prefer being comfortable any day. Although I can just throw on some comfy shorts and oversized T-shirts, I like to put some style and personality into my outfits. In the pictures above, believe it or not, I am breaking no sweat. Pairing my black turtleneck with my floral maxi skirt from Forever 21, I am breezing through the Californian heat while staying fashionable and cool. You don’t have to go all out and dress up to look nice. Maxi skirts give me the same freedom to move around like I would have if I were wearing shorts. They are one of my favorite types of bottom to wear during the warm seasons here in Southern California. They are so comfortable and provide you with a simple, yet sophisticated look. Low heels also do not cause strain on your feet and they are the perfect shoes to match with any casual outerwear aside from flats. Remember to give the low-heeled sandals a shot, they can totally change your entire look!

I believe that anyone can pull off any outfit if they believe they look good in that outfit. I also believe that the ultimate key to looking stylish, while being comfortable at the same time, is to have confidence and to wear that confidence. Don’t be afraid to try on something different to find your style. Have confidence in your own skin and have confidence in your style.

As one of my favorite quotes say, “What you think, you become.” If you think you look good, everyone else will think you look good! Let’s have a #RAD fall season!
