STYLE GURU BIO: Kristina Tidaback

Hi everyone! My name is Kristina Tidaback and I am a freshman at the University of Kentucky. I am majoring in merchandising, apparel, and textiles with a minor in business. It is my first time writing for CollegeFashionista and I am beyond excited to be a part of the team! Ever since I was little, my friends and family knew I had an eye for fashion and I have continued that legacy. Although I am from Chicago, my lifelong dream has been to work in New York City after college. Not only do I love fashion, but I am notorious for binge-watching makeup and lifestyle videos on YouTube.

One of my biggest beliefs when it comes to fashion is that you do not have to break your bank in order to look good. My friends know that I always find the best deals. Everything I am wearing in this outfit I bought for less than its retail value. It is not as hard as it seems and once you get going, you start to cringe when you hand over your credit card for full price. Having new pieces in my closet keep me feeling fresh and put together. Plus, it is nice not having to break my bank in the process.

When it comes to fashion, I find an interest in many different styles. From girly to grunge, I love it all. Fashion is a great way to not only express who you are, but how you are feeling on a day to day basis. As much as I love being comfortable and wear leggings, jeans have been transformed over the years to make sure comfort is key for those who wear them. I believe comfort is key to any outfit. But, being comfortable doesn’t have to mean you should wear a bland sweatsuit. For this outfit, I wore a cozy, cream cable knit sweater and jeans. To add an extra flair to the outfit, I paired my sweater with a camel suede moto jacket. To finish off my look, I wore my beloved black booties and some simple gold jewelry. My bright blue shades are an unexpected twist which can also cover up the baggage under your eyes from a lack of sleep. Luckily, we have coffee to help us survive.
