STYLE GURU BIO: Kristina Argiro

Hey everyone! My name’s Kristina Argiro, and I am a sophomore at Marist College. I’m currently majoring in Psychology with a possible future minor in Photography. This is my first semester as a Style Guru, and I could not be more excited!

Ever since I was little, matching my outfits and keeping up with the latest trend was a necessity to me. Even as a toddler, my mom always made sure that my hair ties, shirt and shoes all were the same shade of color. With her help, I became interested in different trends and styles. As I grew up, shopping became my favorite hobby and my go-to activity. I used every possible excuse to go to the mall so that I could buy a new shirt or accessory to wear to school the next day. I always made sure to use my hallway as a runway that night to make sure my family knew I had bought something new, too!

My style has changed a lot through the years. I feel as though I go through stages. I started out being absolutely obsessed with sparkles; in fact, I used to say that glitter was my favorite color! However, as I grew up and began college, I was inspired by all of the new trends surrounding me, and I opened up to a lot of different style ideas. Leather pieces and beanies were new to my ensemble but became items that I really love to wear. As you can see in my picture, I like to pair the two together to create a unique outfit. I also love to accessorize—in my opinion, you can never wear too much jewelry! To me, bracelets, rings and necklaces all show off different personal styles. With this outfit, I decided to go simple and classy with just one big bracelet and just two simple rings. On any regular day, I could be spotted wearing up to five or six rings and stacking my bracelets pretty far up my wrist—this all just depends on my mood!

Not only do I love the idea of fashion, but photography has been a passion of mine for so many years now as well. I love being able to express myself through the lens of a camera and capture so many different things around me. Bringing these two together led me to CollegeFashionista, and I couldn’t be more excited to get started with this internship and share what I find on campus. Be sure to check out my articles every Friday to see what kind of new styles Marist students will be showing off this spring!
