STYLE GURU BIO: Krisanta Filoteo

Greetings, beautiful Fashionistas and Fashionistos! I am Krisanta and currently residing in the wonderful city of Seattle, Washington. I don’t want to brag, but I truly believe I live in the greatest city on earth filled with amazing inspirational people and places all around. Walking out the doors is literally a breath of fresh air each day and I am truly grateful to be living in the Pacific Northwest. I’m currently studying at Seattle Pacific University with a degree in Communications and a minor in Business Administration. This is my first semester with CollegeFashionista and I am so excited to see all of the diverse styles happening around the world! I hope I can give you all a sense of the Seattle energy with my own posts.

When it comes to my personal style, I like to stay classy and simple. I’m obsessed with pairing up prints with solid colors like I did with my striped skirt and sheer blue top. While I do love the look of high heeled shoes and boots, cute flats are always a great median between fashionable and comfy. I’m constantly pulling inspiration from magazines and also style I see while out on the streets. Living in the Northwest, the weather definitely dictates what I wear and naturally, I tend to pile on a lot of layers throughout the year which means I’m addicted to boots, scarves and knitted sweaters. My style icons are Audrey Hepburn and Olivia Palermo; I love the chic and classy style they possess.

Although I’m not directly studying fashion, I’ve always had a deep rooted love for it. Eventually, I’d like to work for a company that deals with putting on runway shows and supports up and coming designers. Other interests I enjoy are: hiking, eating sushi, drinking coffee, DIYs, writing, traveling, driving far distances with an awesome soundtrack, going to concerts, shopping for candles and being creative in any way I can!

Overall, I believe fashion is art on our skin and a form of self expression that we can share with the world. The beautiful thing about fashion is that it can never be wrong and everyone has their own individual unique styles. I look forward to sharing my own take on fashion trends and styles happening around my city through the columns on CollegeFashionista. Live original, be authentic and love yourself: this is the greatest style we can have!
