STYLE GURU BIO: Kiley Quinlevan

Hey Fashionistas/os! My name is Kiley and I am now officially a senior at the University of Wisconsin-Madison majoring in Retailing with a certificate in Entrepreneurship. I am excited to spend the semester with you all sharing my love for fashion and style.

I spent the last semester studying abroad in Rome, Italy at John Cabot University and was able to experience a whole knew sense of the word style. It seemed as though the Italians were dressed to impress at any given time, forcing me to put away any and all of my comfy attire and attempt to fit in to the sea of well-dressed people. Luckily I had my eight roommates by my side and eight more closets to raid for clothes to wear on a night out on the town.

Living with eight other girls with completely different styles has influenced the way I personally dress and has forced me to expand my horizon and try new style techniques I may not have tried in the past. Living in Italy also forced me to put away my brightly colored tops and dresses and wear a lot of black. As I am sure most of you know, most Italians follow the rule that black is the new…everything.

My love for clothing started at a young age but really expanded when I started working at a boutique in my hometown. Through working with clothes, shoes and accessories every day, my interest in the retail industry grew, as well as my closet. I am a firm believer that quality denim, including a jean jacket, should be a staple in every girl or guy’s closet, which is why working at a store specializing in designer denim was so fun for me. Another staple in my wardrobe is a statement necklace. This accessory has the power to enhance any outfit you are wearing. In addition to a key necklace, you can always find me wearing my favorite Alex and Ani bracelets.

I am excited to share the style on my campus with all of you for the rest of the semester! Ciao Fashionistas/os.
