STYLE GURU BIO: Kera Bussey-Sims

Hello Everyone! My name is Kera Bussey-Sims and this is my fifth semester as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista! As of two days ago, I am a junior at Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio. I am pursuing a degree in business administration with a concentration in marketing and Mandarin Chinese.

Even though I am only a junior, it is so crazy to see how much I have changed since freshman year. In high school, I was relatively involved. I was on the women’s varsity soccer team and I participated in a few clubs, but overall I didn’t really know what I was doing or what I was interested in. Now, I am an active member in my sorority, I am volunteering with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, I am assisting with establishing a fashion club at Ohio Wesleyan University and I am still interning with my favorite company, CollegeFashionista! I guess you could say I’m starting to figure things out.

Every STYLE GURU BIO I have written has had at least one paragraph of random facts about me that I otherwise wouldn’t be able to share with you guys. With this being my fifth semester with CollegeFashionista, I figured I could come up for five random facts to share. Let’s begin. First, I have a blue beta fish named George that lives in my dorm room with me. I got really lonely freshman year and decided having a pet would be nice. I have managed to keep him alive for two years now which I think I should be commended for. Second, I am a Rho Gamma at my school this semester which means that I disassociate from my sorority so I can better assist the potential new members make their decisions. So if you know what sorority I am in, keep it quiet! Third, I have three very small tattoos. Fourth, I have an irrational fear of butterflies, and fifth, I host a weekly radio show with two of my best friends.

Alright, now for the outfit. Even though the school year just started, I am already semi-overwhelmed with classes, textbook prices and social events. Luckily, throughout my last two years in college, I have figured out how to hone in on my inner minimalist-chic. I’m wearing a loose gray top from Nordstrom (bless that employee discount), black Topshop jeans and black Birkenstock sandals. I thought this was a good comfy, casual look for the first few days of school given the fact that very soon I will be wearing leggings every day.

I am so very excited to be with CollegeFashionista again this fall. Check back for more from me!
