STYLE GURU BIO: Kendall Ruchti

Hi, friends! My name is Kendall and I am currently a senior at the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire. For the past few years, I have been studying public relations with a minor in multimedia communication. I have always felt a connection with storytelling, as a result, I chose to pursue photography, filmmaking, editing and writing.

Last year, I started working as the photo/multimedia editor for my school’s student-run newspaper, The Spectator, and instantly fell in love with photojournalism. My favorite part about photography is capturing people in personal moments of sheer happiness, which is something I think cannot candidly be captured any other way.

Aside from thinking I was “trendy” in high school, my real journey with fashion started about three years ago when I began selling handbags for the famous retail empire, Michael Kors, and I haven’t turned back since. Michael Kors has a way of pairing iconic, retro silhouettes with trending staple items, as well as crafting timeless looks that cannot be ignored. I may be biased, but I would say Michael Kors is currently one of America’s most innovative designers and has definitely had a huge influence on my personal style.

When I’m not working, most of my free time is spent live streaming runway shows and cultivating my fashion kingdom. I aspire to grow up and become Anna Wintour sans the sunglasses and bangs, because I look terrible with sunglasses and bangs.

Whether you are friend, foe or stranger, I invite you to follow along with me on my new journey with CollegeFashionista. I promise you won’t regret it!
