STYLE GURU BIO: Kelsey Knepler

Hi there, Fashionistas/os! My name is Kelsey Knepler and I am a junior double majoring in Communication Arts and Theatre and Drama at the University of Wisconsin- Madison. I am beyond excited to get started looking at the trends on my campus and join the CollegeFashionista team this semester.

I have been passionate about fashion for as long as I can remember. It began by constantly begging my parents to take me to Limited Too and snatching anything covered in glitter or sequins. As I have grown up, my style has thankfully evolved and become more coherent. I discovered my style through exploration and not having any set limitations. I try not to commit myself to one specific style such as edgy or preppy and this has resulted in allowing fashion to encompass the many facets of my personality. What I wear is a reflection of who I am.

The style I have primarily gravitating toward during the summer has been the bohemian chic trend. I have found inspiration through pictures of Kate Moss, Sienna Miller, and Gossip Girl’s Serena van der Woodsen. This breezy tunic from Windsor is effortlessly perfect for everything from running errands to date nights. I paired it with a pair of tribal inspired sandals and an antique looking ring. The accessories help to accentuate the free spirit vibe of the tunic. What I love about this style is how unique quality the patterns and textiles possess. I look forward to seeing how I can incorporate that element in the mix with my favorite crisp fall pieces such as blazers and structured skirts.

As fall approaches, I cannot wait to start getting inspiration these coming weeks from Vogue, Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week, and of course all of the Fashionistas/os at CollegeFashionista.

Be sure to stay tuned and check out my monthly articles! Here’s to a great semester!
